In this edition, let us focus on what this column stands for, as its name implies. This column is known as Soul Mate, so let us talk about what a Soul Mate is and how to go about getting a Soul Mate.
Many of us feel or take it that we have that special person that is really cut out for us. We feel that with that person, life would be a thing of perpetual joy and it would be happiness all through. Life would be in blissful we have that person as a partner.
The real question we should ask ourselves is whether there exists such a perfect person in this world. Is there such a person with whom we could live forever without a single quarrel, without a single misunderstanding? Really life would be heavenly if we could get such a person. Many have wasted precious years searching and waiting for that Mr. Right or Miss Right that would be a Soul Mate for them to have a blissful married life.
Well, if wishes were horses beggars would ride but somehow, life hardly serves us our daily meals in a platter of gold. So we have found ways to make do with what we have while waiting for what we want. As the saying goes, if you cannot get what you like, like what you get. So how do you get your Soul Mate? When you get your Soul Mate, how will you know that indeed you have got your Soul Mate? Let us share tips on how to go about it.
Be the Soul Mate: We take a Soul Mate as that pleasant agreeable personality that would give us joy and happiness. So the easiest and best way to get a Soul Mate is for you to exhibit those qualities of a Soul Mate. Like attracts like and so when you exhibit that sweet personality, you will be noticed and like a magnet, you will attract to yourself people of such likable personalities.
Keep An Open Mind: Don’t be too rigid. Your Soul Mate may not be someone of your town or tribe or someone who will fall in love with you at first sight. If you are so rigid about what the person should be, where the person must come from, how tall or short or handsome or beautiful the person should be, you may wait a pretty long time. Love grows and surprise is part of the romance of having a Soul Mate.
Let Others Be: It is very essential that you respect the individuality of each person. The person is not a robot to dance to your tune always. It must be a game of give and take. Don’t expect your Soul Mate to change completely to suit your demands, while you remain rigid and refusing to give way here and there. That may drive away your Soul Mate from you.
Cultivate Patience: You may get your Soul Mate at an early age or at a much, later age. Only being patient can see you through to get your Soul Mate. Don’t be too hasty. Even if you were expecting your Soul Mate to grow with you, build a home together, get married, raise family and do other sweet things together, still be watchful and bid your time, no matter how long it is taking you.
Stick together: Don think that life will be full of roses once you get your Soul Mate. In most cases, it will not be. So, as they say during wedding, for better for worse, you must stick together to weather the storm. Learn to grow with the person, enjoy with the person, endure with the person and stick together through thick and thin. Sometime, you may not realize that the person is your Soul Mate until very late in life, so put your heart and soul into any relationship you find yourself.

That is the only way to be happy because if you are not happy and know what you really want, don’t expect someone else to make you happy and know what you want.
