Despite the distractions from the G-7 Governors and the Boko Haram insurgence in the Northern part of the country, to the administration of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and the clamour for and not to run the 2015 presidential election by Nigerians, a stakeholder in Rivers State, Chief Somiari Mie, has called on Nigerians, particularly the South-South people to support the government and good policies of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to move Nigeria to the next level.
Chief Somiari, who made the call in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, at a dedication and reception of his grandson, reiterated the need for the people of South-South to give their unflinching support to Jonathan, saying that they cannot afford to misuse the opportunity that has come their way, with the emergence of Jonathan as the first Nigerian president, to have come from the South-South region of the country.
He maintained that Jonathan has done well in the last two years, compared to his predecessors and the need for him to be supported to do more in the last part of his first tenure and the commencement of his second tenure, when elected in 2015.
Chief Mie however, appealed to the people of Rivers State, particularly the youths and politicians to restrain from the act of using unguided utterances that could heat up the political situation in the state, but always sue for peace and unity, he added.###
