The Acting Managing Director of NDDC, Dr Mrs. Christy Atako has flayed the standard of job at students’ hostel project being constructed by the commission at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu, Rivers State.
Dr Atako who spoke to newsmen shortly after inspecting the project, described what she called below standard job and expressed dissatisfaction on the project. “I am disappointed with the standard of job, this contractor has no competence to handle this job, I direct that you correct all the defects.”
The Acting MD stated that the era of looking at the attainment of mileage alone in projects delivery is gone, pointing out that henceforth standard will take the pride of place.
“We are particular about standard and finishing, there is no compromise.”
She assured that the commission is desirous to inaugurate the project, but warned that, this will not be done until all the amendments as observed were effected.
DrAtako therefore directed the commission’s engineers supervising the project to work in consonance with the contractor with a view to ensuring that the right thing was done.
