How Police Officer Committed Suicide At Bundu-Ama

MBU JOSEPH MBUA constable with the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Borikiri Divisional Headquarters in the Rivers State Command, Constable Awaji-mimam, aka Ukwa has allegedly committed suicide, Tuesday August 13th, 2013.

The police constable until his demise was a resident of Bundu-Ama Community and lived with his wife.

The late Mr. Awaji-mimam was said to have deceived the wife of going for a night vigil and advised her to pass the night with his brothers within the same Bundu-Ama community.

On returning home the following morning, the wife said she met the door locked from behind and efforts to unlocked it met the brick wall, hence she went back to invite the brothers.

The sad story has it that on arrival with the brothers who forced the door open and beheld the lifeless body of their brother hanging on a rope hooked to the ceiling fan.

The deceased, ‘The Newswriter’ learnt who lost his only baby in less than eight weeks ago, had earlier took ill to the point of death but was miraculously healed.

Awaji-mimam was said to be involved in a contributing group where they pulled finances together to assist their daily living.

As if he knew what may befall him, had earlier instructed the group to remit his own turn to the wife.

His demise occurred few days after the instruction to the financial group.

While the family members are worried, there are indications that his death was never an ordinary one. A family source complained.

Late constable Awaji-mimam, hailed from Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

According to family source, the late officer of the Nigeria Police Force may have been under a spell, otherwise wondered how such nature of death could have come the way of the man.

He described the late constable as very jovial, selfless character and easy going man who never had the time to quarrel with anyone and was loved by all, even his colleagues in office hence his nickname, Ukwa.

When contacted the PPRO, Rivers State Command, DSP Angela Agabe said she was yet to get the details from the DPO incharge of the area.###
