Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators (IICA) Honours, PAM Okoli, Others

The Institute of Industrialists and Corporate Administrators has given awards to deserving personalities in the Rivers State, based on their contributions from their various field of human endeavours.

The colourful event took place at Federal secretariat, Port Harcourt, amidst jubilations. According to the programme Director of the Institute, Dr. Uche Akujuobi, it was designed for South-south, and Rivers State is chosen as the rightful place for the grand finale. He however expressed optimism that the new institute would go along way to encourage industrialists and administrators in the zone to put more efforts for industrial development and good corporate governance. At the seminar, the key note and lecture titled “Leadership and personal integrity at work place was delivered by Dr. Uche Akujuobi as a total of 13 peoples were given a ward, 5 fellows and 8 certificates. According to Dr. Uche, the programme coordinator “the aim of organizing this seminar is mainly membership drive after that we ask the state exco to organize their own. They should arrange meeting with governor on this proposal which I hope will succeed. The main issue, we want people to focus on industrialization as a way of life.

Not depending on oil only, the industries will provide employments for people. I however advise Nigerians to work hard and think how to establish small scale and medium industries. Members should see how to establish industry and get loan from industrial development bank,” he opined.

Amongst the recipients who spoke to journalists was Sir. Julius David PAM (KSJ 1) (FIICA) who bagged fellow and golden plate. He showered appreciation on the honour done him, and adding that it will propel him to do more.

Sir. Pam who is a staff with National teachers Institute, Port Harcourt, said “Today I was given a golden plate in recognition of what I had put in the past and I appreciate the efforts of the Institute to recognize diligent and hardwork that goes along way to spur people to do more, so we encourage all the industrialists to come and join the institute to achieve formidable goals. Adding “our aim is to train manpower that will enhance industrial development. When you have manpower that is not trained, it becomes a problem. This programme will encourage individuals to increase their productivity, He submitted.

Another awardee who spoke was a woman of substance and retires from the bank sector, Mrs. Nwakauche Beatrice Adaobi (FIICA). She was given a fellow of the “IICA”, said that she was delighted on the award, pointing out that it should motivate her to achieve a lot, especially, on her business.

According to her, “the award has added another feather to me,. This will lead me to do more and spur me to greater height in the world. It will also publicize me into getting new contact. And I have met two persons here, with their contacts, if properly harness will get me good contact. I sincerely appreciate the award,” she stated.

Another notable figure, that receive the award is the state officer NECO office, Port Harcourt Mr. Onowu J.B.C. Okoli (FIICA), he was honoured on his contribution to the sector. Mr. Okoli was represented by Danjuma M. Tatma (MIICA). He was also honoured as member institute of industrialists and corporate administrators.

Mr. Danjuma was impressed with the award stating that his boss, Okoli was unavoidably absent, but would be pleased with the award.

It was indeed, eventful as many dignitaries from all walks of life attended the occasion. ###
