Nigerians have expressed worry over the UN building bomb
blast terrorist attack by the dreaded Boko Haram which has claimed lives and properties in the Northern part of Nigeria.
The lattest was a prominent Chief in Rivers State, His Royal Highness, Chief Owabie Tobin, the Eze Onumini I of Port Harcourt City LGA.
In a chat with the political editor of The Newswriter newspaper in Port Harcourt, Chief Tobin who expressed sadness over the atrocities of Boko Haram, noted that their aim was to intimidate the people of the south-south and disorganize the genuine administration of a Niger Delta son, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan so that he would not record any development at the end of his tenure.
The royal father who lamented over the scenario recalled that the Northern leaders like General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, General Mohamadu Buhari, General Abudusalami Abubakar, Former Military Heads of State, Emirs of the North and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar were unconcerned on the matter, stressing that their inability to make comment on the incident proved that they do not have any good thing for Dr. Jonathan’s administration and Nigeria as well.
Chief Owabie Tobin reminded the former military heads of state that during the civil war between Nigeria and Biafra when General Yakubu Gowon, a Northern was the military head of state, it was the people of Niger Delta who stood behind Nigeria which gave them victory.
He further disclosed that the people of Niger Delta has refused to let Nigeria divide into two, leading to the unification of Nigeria as one body, stressing that if Boko Haram continue in this manner of destruction, Nigeria will separate into two and urged the former Military Heads of State, General Ibrahim Bademasi Babangida, General Mohamadu Buhari, and General Abdusalami Abubakar and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to call the Boko Haram to order to ensure peace in the nation.
On if he wants Nigeria to divide into two, the Royal Father said no. “I don’t want us to divide because Nigeria has destroyed themselves during the civil war and God has joined us together as one so we are one body, unless it is the will of God for us to divide.”
He urged Nigerians to think of other things that affect Nigeria and not division.
Chief Tobin advised Boko Haram to always demand whatever be their problems, like the repentant militants of Niger Delta and not to destroy lives and properties.
On ACN’s critics that governor Amaechi performed below expectation in his 100 days in office, the royal father who noted that he loved governor Amaechi not because he gave him contract, rather because of his developmental achievement across the 23 LGAs of Rivers State in the last dispensation said his second missionary journey in office has just began.
According to him “one cannot give birth to a child today and at the same day, the child walks. Even if I and Mr. Jerry Needam were given the opportunity to rule the state we cannot do half of what governor Amaechi is doing for the state”, pointing out that none of the past governors that governed the state can be compared with governor Amaechi Chibuike Rotimi on development.
“If Amaechi is a 419 governor he could have packed our money and run away like others, but governor Amaechi cannot do it because he is a good leader who has his people at heart. What we should do is to pray for him to continue his developmental strides”, he stated.
Chief Tobin who expressed grief over the death of the wife of Hon. Chimbiko Akarolo, the Mayor of Port Harcourt City LGA, advised him to be courageous over the death. ######
