The Ikwerre Youth Movement (IYM) has now taken full control of affairs in Rumuomasi Community, as more than six hundred persons comprising the Chiefs, Elders, Opinion leaders, Women and Youths attended the IYM meeting held at the Community town hall, No. 5, Odikagbo lane, last Saturday.
The meeting which also witnessed the presence of two Care-Taker-Committee members in Obio/Akpor L.G.A, Hon. Stanley Nyema Ehoro and Hon. Chimkweru Ejims, as well as the zonal coordinator, High Chief V.N. Otto, Rumuomasi IYM Chairman, Comrade Christian Chichi Chuku and the immediate past councilor of ward 8 Rumuomasi, Hon. Ndamati Onunwor. Others were one time councilor of the ward, Hon. Kinsley Adele, Elder John Nke Adele, Festus Adele, Youth President of Rumuolukwu Community, Comrade Ichemati Odum, Otis Asonye, IYM women leader in Rumuomasi, Tina Ogwutum, Emeka Ikwunga, Comrade Joseph Ogwutum, Luke Chuku, one time youth president of Rumuolukwu Community, Kinika Okpobiri and Comrade Lucky David and several others, hailed the leadership quality of Governor Chibuike Amaechi in the state.
Addressing the gathering, the Care-Taker-Committee member in Obio/Akpor Local Government; Hon. Stanley Nyema Ehoro informed them that Rumuomasi and Elelenwo (Oropotoma Clan) are under his constituency and as such everybody should embrace and preach the virtue of IYM where ever he or she is.
Hon. Ehoro, who is the Supervisory Councilor for works, urged them to continue to be loyal and support the Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi as well as the Chief of Staff, Hon. Sir Tony Okocha, added that they strongly believe in truth, justice and welfare of everybody. While expressing joy for the massive turn out of people, he assured them that whatever that is due to them will definitely get to them through him. He noted that whatever that is happening in Rivers State is part of man’s trial on earth, and expressed the hope that Governor Amaechi will triumph over all his travails, hence God is with him.
“Don’t go back from IYM. Respect the leaders of IYM, the zonal coordinator, the Rumuomasi Chairman and your entire executive and ensure you feature in all IYM events”, he charged. Hon. Ehoro further advised them not to speak evil against anybody but respect peoples view, stressing that IYM is a credible organization that believes in peace, Unity and progress of all.
Also speaking, another member of CTC Government in Obio/Apkor L.G.A, and Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture, Hon. Chimkweru Ejims said that IYM is the best place to be.
Hon. Ejim stated that people’s destiny and future are in their hands and as such they should take themselves out of bondage and embrace light which is IYM. He lauded ward 8 Rumuomasi, for being exceptional in the politics of Obio/Akpor and Rivers State because they always belong to where there is light, and insist on justice and equity.
“Rumuomasi has always shown that the will of the people remains supreme”, he said, maintaining that the era of “oga say” has gone in the politics of Obio/Apkor.
Hon. Ejim said they were in Rumuomasi Community to liberate everybody and make them see the light through IYM.
According to him, Nyesom Wike is one man who does not want to see the progress of Evo people and advised those who are still following him to withdraw because he has nothing to offer.
In his speech, the zonal coordinator of IYM in Oropotoma (Rumuomasi and Elelenwo), High Chief Vincent Nnamdi Otto, Eze Chimerum I of Evo Kingdom, noted that IYM is where one can find peace, light, truth and justice, adding that they are in the right place and that whoever does not belong should not blame anybody.
Chief Otto said IYM has brought tremendous change in the entire Ikwerre land, pointing out that the organization abhors violence and believes in peace and unity of all.
He called on everybody to identify with IYM, saying all that is happening in the state are mere trail of the Governor, assuring that Governor Amaechi will be victorious, finish his tenure peacefully and hand over to whom he likes.
The zonal coordinator encouraged all to be strong in IYM because they have a lot to benefit and expressed satisfaction for the number of those that attended the meeting.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of IYM in Rumuomasi, Comrade Christian Chichi Chuku had reminded the gathering of the immense benefit inherent in IYM and urged members to ensure prompt and regular attendance to meetings. Comrade Chuku, who posited that Governor Chibuike Amaechi, as the founder and grand patron of IYM world wide has helped a lot of people who are what they are today, appealed to them to always preach the good virtue of the organization, adding that Governor Amaechi is the only Governor that recognized Ikwerre people, Obio/Akpor people, as well as the widows in the state.
In his goodwill message, an Elder in Rumuomasi Community, John Nke Adele, popularly known as “Government”, opined that the meeting was called to let the world know that Rumuomasi Community, right from time had embraced IYM fully and that they will continue to identify with the group. Elder Adele observed that IYM is the only organization where the truth, justice, light, life, peace and progress abound.
“Rumuomasi is not afraid of anything. We believe in Governor Amaechi, Chief of Staff, Hon. Sir Tony Okocha and Hon. Stanley Ehoro’s leadership”, he said, pointing out that IYM is fully in charge in Rumuomasi (ward 8).
Adele assured that they will deliver in any election, any time and any day and directed anybody who needs anything from Obio/Akpor LGA to meet the two CTC members, Hon. Stanley Ehoro and Hon. Chimkweru Ejims, as it is an opportunity for all to smile under IYM.
In an interview with journalists shortly after the meeting, the women leader of IYM in Rumuomasi (ward 8), Ms Tina Chinagorom Ogwutum expressed absolute confidence in IYM as a true, most organized and credible ethnic youth forum in Rivers State. Ms Ogwutum said she was completely and totally convinced that with the number of attendees, IYM is fully on ground in Rumuomasi, and thanked all for coming.
Meanwhile, the CTC member and superuvisory councilor for works in Obalga, Hon. Stanley Ehoro and his collegue, Hon. Chimkweru Ejims and their entourage had paid the paramount ruler of Rumuomasi Community, Eze ABC Adele a visit after the meeting.
Hon. Ehoro told the king that as the representative of Oropotoma (Rumuomasi and Elelenwo) in the CTC Government, they were in his palace to intimate him about the concluded meeting of IYM in his Community.
In his response, Eze Adele expressed happiness for their coming and gave them his blessing. ###
