Humility Key To Exceeding Greatness – Otoko

Humility has been described as the only key to an exceeding greatness in God’s due time and season.

General Overseer of the George Otoko Ministry aka Lily of the Valleys Chapel, Dr. George Otoko (KSC) came up with this ascertion last weekend while speaking at the 5th anniversary celebration of the ministry in Port Harcourt.

The professional, mogul and soil scientist, traditional ruler and lecturer turned general overseer, Rev. Chief (Dr.) George R. Otoko, an epitome of humility who linked the birth of the Ministry to humility, has charge all especially members of Lily of the Valleys chapel to toe the path of humility to enhance greatness at God’s due time.

Dr. Otoko in his address presented at the occasion was explicit when he revealed that he was a vowed child of his mother to God like Prophet Samuel by his mother, Hannah.

He grew up in such vow, became a knight of St. Christopher and later according to him, God used him to established the Lily of the Valleys Chapel, a ministry  he posited as non profit oriented.

The ministry in line with the overseers given vision is basically evangelical that is poised to winning souls for Christ, reach out to the oppressed and bound by Satan, this he said has secured him peace in life as vowed by his mother. “Therefore, the Lily of the Valleys Chapel is not profit oriented. It is clearly an avenue to win souls for Christ, reach out to many that are bound by Satan”.

“The vision of the Ministry is to continue to make many mighty by the word of God, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, unbound those that are bound, comfort all that mourn and prepare all for the eventual rapture by Christ.

Dr. Otoko who expressed optimism of the ministry’s spread both locally and intentionally said the ministry was founded on God’s instruction and only God knows how it will fare but noting that those believing in God’s covenant of the Lily of the Valleys are raw materials and God is the sculpture who mould them.

While charging the people on humility, Dr. Otoko maintained that those who have humbled themselves under the mighty hand of God and key into the covenant in the Lily of the Valleys Chapel are already reaping the blessings of God since the beginning of the year, adding that God has promised him that 2013 is a year of restoration and abundant God’s blessing for members.

The General Overseer has however debunked the notion that he condemned the practice of giving offering in church. According to him, his ministry decline in taking offerings in church does not undermine the power of offering and tithe but noted that it is the policy of Lily of the Valleys not to take offering, saying that those who have may give voluntarily and willingly.

On the modalities to actualize the visions of the ministry, the general Overseer said God who gave the vision will definitely work it out and not men.

Earlier, the resident pastor of the ministry Pastor, King David Gogo also known as Jesus Boku-boku has said that the ministry is waxing from strength to glory as the ministry has grown from 20 membership to over 200 within five years.

His aspiration in the years ahead would be to see more of the glory of God in action, explaining that the achievements in five years are numerous even as the church was moved from a temporary site to the present location.

On his challenges as resident Pastor, Pastor Gogo maintained that pastors need not to complain or have grudges rather always resort to prayers and fasting to overcome every challenging situations.

In his sermon at the occasion, the guest Preacher Rev. Apostle Charles Egerton admonished the congregation to abide by the theme of the anniversary “Humble yourselves… that he may exalt you in due time”.

The preacher averred that it is impossible to access success in life without humility to the authority to the Lord Jesus, urging all to key into the life style of Jesus Christ.
