Unity Road Gets To Opobo By September

UNITY ROAD FLOWING PIXThe Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has assured the people of Opobo/Nkoro that the ongoing unity road project, which was stalled due to a variation demand by the contractors, will get to Opobo town before the end of September, while the road project will be complete by December. Governor Amaechi, who gave the confirmation while addressing the people of Opobo/Nkoro when they paid him a solidarity visit, said that the current political skirmishes in the state, is not his personal fight but a battle of all Rivers people to protect their oil wells.

 He said it is a struggle for projects from the Federal Government and noted  that it is high time the Bodo  Bonny Federal road be completed soon considering its economic importance . The Governor who promised that the fish industry project at Opobo will be completed soon, it reiterated that the Industry will be sold to private persons from the area who is interested. He called upon the people of the area not only to stand by him but be ready and willing to follow him wherever he is going .

 Earlier in an address, presented by Prof. Winstin Bell-Gam, the Onolga people said that they were on the visit to show their unalloyed support and loyalty to the Governor. He said that they have watched with dismay the unfolding strange and unhealthy events in the state and have deemed it fit to come and show their solidarity by pledging their support. Prof. Bell-Gam noted that the area has benefitted immensely from  Amaechi’s Administration. He said that Governor Amaechi is an exemplary and focused Governor that the nation will continue to be proud of. Prof. Bell-Gam called on him to remember his promise to the people and never to be dismayed by the recent events.
