Former Eagles Seek To Defend Indigenous Coaches

The advent of former Eagles coach, Samson Siasia’s sack has generated a twist for former Eagle players who are now coaches to instill confidence in them as the last hope of indigenous coaches in the country.
Keshi, the big boss, has been saddled with the responsibility of redeeming the lost hope of indigenous coaches, by qualifying the Eagles into the next African cup of Nations as well as the world cup, after his compatriot Siasia failed the hope of Nigerians.
Knowing what awaits him, Keshi has picked former fellow Eagles stars who are now coaches to team up with him to salvage the sinking hope of Nigerian coaches. In a bid to be doubly sure, Keshi also went a step further to contracting his partner at Togo to do the job for Nigeria.
Keshi in a swift reaction, after being appointed as the Eagles coach, said all hope is not lost as he will bring his wealth of experience together with his team of indigenous coaches mainly from the Eagles’ family.
Keshi is carrying the last hope of indigenous coaches, as all indigenous coaches pray that Keshi should redeem their hope of one day handling the senior national football team.
Time alone will tell how far Keshi and his compatriots, Amokachi, Okpara and Ike will fare with the Eagle’s Job, mostly when the problem of Nigeria football has been attributed to be spiritual.
For the indigenous coaches to survive, the seeming temptation of not failing the nation and the rest of the indigenous coaches, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) should as a matter of fact, give Keshi and his coaching crew all the support they need. Free hand should be given to Keshi and his crew. In that way, if Keshi and his crew fail, the nation’s football administrative house could forget about indigenous coaches to coach the Eagles and go for foreign coaches.
The success of Keshi and his crew who are now representing or defending the hope of all Nigerian coaches will largely depend on both Nigerian Football Federation, the players who are the key players and the Nigerian press.
The co-operation of Amokachi with his immediate boss (Keshi) is still another factor that will see the Keshi tutored Eagles succeed. The big players obedient to their coach too will bring the spirit of togetherness for the team to succeed.
Putting every sense of duty and technical capacity, the crew is bound to succeed. The trio has all played the round leather game to the apex. Now that the nation has further assigned them the responsibility of building a solid Eagles that could stand any football team in any part of the world, they should also have it in their mind that they are the last hope of indigenous coaches handling the Eagles. If they fail, that will be the end of indigenous coaches for the Eagles job. ###
