The Rivers State Police Command has arrested three bank robbers. The command has also foiled car snatching, leading to the death of one of the culprits.
According to the Police Image maker, Rivers Command, Ben Ugwuegbunam, on November 11, 2011, at about 13.40hours, the Olusegun Obasanjo Division patrol 2, arrested three robbery suspects who forced open an Infinity jeep at Diamond Bank, Aba Road, and removed the sum of N600,000, belonging to one Pastor Godwin, a customer of the bank.
The money was recovered from them.
In another development, the police foiled car snatching attempt.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, at about 0240 hours along Tombia Street, GRA in Port Harcourt, three men attempted to snatch a Vento car from one Mr. Adamu.
The men of Olu Obasanjo Division accosted them and in the exchange of gun fire, one of the robbers recognized to be a habitual criminal and ex-militant was fatally wounded.
The Police Image maker disclosed that the car was recovered while two of the robbers fled. The Police are still investigating.####
