Bakana Monarch Calls To Write Kalabari Kingdom

 

A call had gone to the Kalabari Journalists Forum (KJF) to be the between  the Kalabari towns and villages.

The Amadabo of Bakana, Odum VIII, HRH Omiebimaba Orubuiyi made the call when the forum paid him courtesy visit in his place at Bakana in the Degema LGA, Rivers State.

HRH Orubuiyi stated that Bakana was the first town to leave the old Kalabari in 1879 and settled therefore should be given its pride of place in the scheme of things.

“We must all work together saying Bakana, Abonnema and Buguma cannot do anything in isolation but stands to move forward in oneness and unity.

Earlier, the president of KJF, Damiete West thanked the royal father of Bakana for making it possible for the organization’s visit in spite of his tight’s schedule in the kingdom.

West said that since the enthronement of the Amadabo HRH Orubuiyi there is total peace at Bakana and pray to God Almighty to continue to keep him.

He stressed that like in the western part of Nigeria no persons or group of organizations castigate or molest the traditional stool of any king adding that it would put a stop to the attitude among the Kalabari communities.

“Bakana has a role to play in the Kalabari communities pointing out that one of the aims of KJF is to advocate for positive peace among the kingdom”. ###
