This is no longer news that the Nigerian golden Eaglets have been dethrone as champions of African junior champions in the CAF organized African junior Nations cup.
The Ivorian U-17 team last Sunday edged out the Golden Eaglets in a penalty shoots out, after the game was tied to 1-1 draw at regulation time which took the encounter into 5-5 penalties shoot out which the eaglets lost 4-5 in favour of the Ivorians.
The Eaglets were the first to score in the first half in the 8th minutes through a header of Nigerian jersey No. 6 omega.
The Ivorians fought doggedly to equalized in the 27th minutes through the never say die fighting Ivorian striker, Bedia in the first half.
The Eaglets made much effort to increase their goal tally but resilent Ivorian defence could not afford the chances.
As fate was playing out victorious music for the Ivorians Nigerian omega was red carded in the second half for elbowing an Ivorian player at the chest.
The Ivorian was destined to win this particular encounter because of their purposeful player and much coordinated behaviour in the field of play. Unlike the golden Eaglets who were a little bit selfish in passing the ball to their partner to get the goal for the Nigerian Nation.
First the red card caused by Omega was well deserved as the level of indiscipline compared to the Ivorian were the worst of it, but does not mean that the Eaglets did not play well to their credit, the Eaglets are bunch of talented hungry footballers that Nigeria could hope on for the future.
