Sequel to the ratification of a seven member Caretaker Committee chairman and members appointment of Obio/Akpor council sent by the Rivers State government to the state House of Assembly for screening and clearance, the state government has sworn them in.
Performing the swearing in ceremony at the banquet Hall of government house in Port Harcourt, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi who was represented by Mr. George Feyii the Secretary to the State Government charged the caretaker committee members to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and perform their duties with high level of integrity to move the council forward.
The newly appointed committee chairman and 6 members of Obio/Akpor council are Mr. Chikodi Dike Chairman, Nwogu Chima, Ovunda Ihunwo, Stanley Nyema, Owhor Kinikanwo, Yellow Ogbonda and Chikere Ejim as members.
The Newswriter gathered that the new Caretaker Chairman has drawn his first blood by dissolving all existing committees at the council, promising to reconstitute them in future. ###
