One Year Anniversary: Eliowhani Community Celebrates With Eze Omachi,

It was indeed a day to remember as the chiefs in council and the people of Eliowhani Community in Obio Akpor LGA of Rivers State gathered to celebrate with their own, HRH Eze G.U.A Omachi, paramount ruler/Nyenwe-Eli-Owhani VII, as he marks his one year on the throne.

Making his remarks, chairman of the occasion, Chief Alex C. Ikeanyionwu, who was crowned with the title of Ogbuga 1 of Eliowhani by the paramount ruler, Eze Omachi, on his anniversary, described the occasion as something worth doing, and thanked God for the opportunity to celebrate with Eze Omachi.

Chief Ogbuga in a chat with newsmen explained that the peaceful resolution of the dispute he had on a land he bought in Eliowhani community, gave him the courage to develop the land, construct the road, electrify the place and provision of borehole water for the people that are living around the place, single handedly.

Some of the chiefs that were presented with certificates by HRH Eze Omachi include: Chief Daniel Ezebunwo Thompson, Eze Udo I of Eliowhani, Chief Barry A. Amewhule, Ome Nma I of Eliowhani and Chief Collins Nwabueze Ben Ekewa, Eku kwo Okwo I of Eliowhami. Others were Chief Matthew Anele Azuonwu, Eze Ikpokwu I of Eliowhami and Chief Engr. Alex C. Ikeanyionwu, the Ogbuga I of Eliowhani.

The council chiefs upon the receipts of their certificates pledge their continued support to the reign of HRH Eze Omachi and the development of Eliowhani Community. While Chief Daniel Ezebunwo Thompson, Eze Udo of Eliowhani, who was commended by Eze Omachi for all his efforts in ensuring peace and stability promised to do more in his house to house visit to the people of his community for the interest of peace and unity.

However, Chief Hon. Eugene Mams Elewa, Enwa I of Eliowhani and the Special Adviser to the paramount ruler, HRH Eze Omachi, spoke on the reason for adding one to the number of chiefs. He commended the empowerment and developmental efforts of Chief Engr. Alex, adding that the  Jeep the council presented to Eze Omachi was the first of its kind in their community, pointing out that it was done out of their love and support to the reign of Eze Omachi, especially on his support to the reign of their late Royal Highness, when he was alive.

Speaking on the one year anniversary and challenges, Eze Omachi expressed his gratitude to God for been there for him in the past one year. He admitted that there were challenges along the line, saying that some of the challenges he met, were never expected. He used the medium to call on the people of Eliowhani to support and re-direct him, whenever he goes wrong, as he cannot claim to be perfect.

Omachi commended the council of Chiefs and people of Eliowhani for the jeep presented to him, saying that it shows their love and support to him, believing that the gesture will spur him to do more, disclosing that he has in the last December, 2012 empowered widows and presently have 13 students on his scholarship in Eliowhani community within one year of his reign. He was optimistic that more years will provide ample opportunity for the people to have more from him. He pledge to remain their ever servant. He spoke on the decision of the council of chiefs to confer a chieftaincy title on Chief Alex, as the Ogbuga I of Eliowhani, for the provision of transformer, grading of roads and empowering the youths of Eliowhani.

He believed that the honour will propel him to engage more Eliowhani youths in meaningful jobs and finally prayed for the glory of God upon the land of Eliowhani. ###
