RSG To Employ 120 Doctors

In a bid to enhance the State medical sector, the Rivers State government has directed the Ministry of Health to employ qualified medical doctors in the state to run an effective medical system.

The press officer in the Ministry of Health, Mr. Owupele Benebo disclosed this to The Newswriter last week in Port Harcourt.

Mr. Benebo further disclosed that the One Hundred and twenty (120) medical doctors that will be employed will strengthen the state medical system so as to give it more commitment and uplift the health system in the state.

He also stated that the free medical scheme of the state government is meant for every citizen residing in Rivers State, provided he is a law abiding citizen, doing business and paying his tax to the Rivers state government.

According to the press officer, health is meant to be every body’s concern, so there is no room for the citizens to depend on the government alone as they too could contribute to a healthier Rivers State by keeping their gutters and environment clean so as to prevent some common diseases and sickness in the state.

He further stated that the Rivers State government views Health as an important sector in human life, therefore has taken measures to enhance health sector in the state.

He urged citizens to be law abiding as to benefit from the lofty ideas of the governor and called on the society for total support to Amaechi led administration.###
