Degema: Pokima Signs N4.8b Naira 2013 Budget Into Law

The Executive Chairman of  Degema local government area, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima,  has signed the 2013 appropriation bill of  Four Billion, Eight Hundred and Eight Million, Four Hundred and Eighty-three Thousand, Six Hundred and Ninety Six Naira, Sixty-Four Kobo (N4,808,483,696.64) into law after approval by the Delga Legislative Assembly.

Hon. Pokima,  signed the Bill in his office at Degema on Monday 11th March, 2013 in the presence of the Leader, Hon. Abiotoa-a Iboroma.

It would be recalled that Hon. Pokima, had presented a budget estimate of Four Billion, Nine Hundred and Fifty-One Million, Seven Hundred and Seventy-Eight Thousand Naira (N4,951,778.000.00) to House for approval about three weeks.

Out of the approved amount which is short of the N57,678,000.00 (Fifty Seven Million, Six Hundred and seventy-Eight Thousand Naira as originally submitted,  Two Billion, Eight Hundred and Ninety-Four Million One hundred Thousand Naira (N2,894,100,000.00) will be spent on recurrent expenditure, while One Billion, Nine Hundred and Fourteen Million, Three Hundred Eighty-Three Thousand  Six Hundred and Ninety-Six Naira and Sixty-Four Kobo (N1,914,383,696.64) will be spent on capital expenditure.

A Press Statement later released by the Chief Press Secretary confirming the signing of the 2013 Appropriation Bill reads:

Following approval by the Delga Legislative Assembly on the 2013 Appropriation Bill, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima, Executive Chairman of the Degema local government area today signed the bill into law.

Hon. Pokima, wishes to reassure the good people of Degema local government area of the commitment of his administration to speed up development as to compete favourably with other local government areas in the country while calling  for the co-operation of the citizenry.
