Rev. Sokari Wants Oil Derivation Royalty Paid To Him

The foremost gladiator of Oil Derivation and Establisher of Oil Derivation for the Niger Delta states, Rev. (Dr.) Sokari Soberekon has cried out to the benefiting Niger Delta states in the oil derivation he said he single handedly fought for to be paid to him oil derivation tribute as equity demands.

According to the 70 year old activist, “I have done every thing possible to see that my people do not suffer from the hands of the federal government which at the end finally came through as President Shehu Shagari later approved the oil derivation formular for the oil producing states in 1981.

Dr. Sokari Soberekon who is now a man of God states that when he did that single handedly, he was not expecting any material gain for himself, pointing out that he did that for his people’ sake, but lamented that now that he is old and getting weaker in strength, he has no choice than to ask his people to support him in the fought for his life.

Soberekon also appealed to the Niger delta states governors to support him to take the federal government to court for taxing the oil derivation. He noted that the federal government is not paying the actual 13% percent oil derivation to the oil producing states as the oil derivation age is being taxed.

Speaking further, he recalled the story of Jesus Christ and his people, where he said Jesus Christ laid his life for the sake of his people, stressing that he is more than ready to still fight for his people, saying that as a youngman he agitated to establish the oil derivation single handedly.

Soberekon said he has written letters to all Niger Delta states benefiting from the oil derivation to support or empower him to make a case in the court concerning the oil derivation taxation the authority approved on the derivation, regretting that none of the Niger Delta governors had replied him apart from Bayelsa governor who invited him to his state, which according to Soberekon the outcome was not positive. ##
