Baribote Fights To Stop NPL Kick-Off Date

Nigeria Premier League Board, now Nigeria Professional League Board former chairman, Chief Rumson Victor Baribote has vowed to stop the league from kicking off on the 9th of March, 2013 as scheduled.

Chief Baribote is right now in court, seeking to claim his position as the chairman of the Nigeria professional league. Baribote has also faulted the change of name of the league.

He described the action as inappropriate and in a bid to claim his position back, he insists that he is still the chairman of the NPL board.

Baribote who said his sack from the board as chairman is illegal, stressed that he is in court, the league cannot start till the court gives its ruling”. “If this happens, that means the 9th March kick-off day may not be realistic.

The interim management board has replied to what Chief Baribote is thinking to do by saying that the 9th March 2013 Nigeria Professional League kick-off date is sacrosanct, assuring that  Baribote rumbling could not stop the league from commencing on that date.

Many registered Nigerian professional league teams have been on their pre-season preparation to grace the league when it will commence.
