The Newswriter Editor Buries Brother

The remains of a retired soldier, Opusenibo Friday Claude Ogolo, elder brother of the editor of The Newswriter, Senibo Atagbara, was laid to rest last week end at his home town, Opobo Kingdom.
Opusenibo Friday Ogolo died on 24th September, 2011 at a ripe age of 91 years after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Daisy Ogolo, seven children, twelve grand children, brother, daughters in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, including the Chief Mourner, Senibo Claude Ogolo and a host of other relations too numerous to mention.
Late Friday was born into the family of Late Madam Leticia Atagbara Cookey and Late Chief Claude Sodiabofori Ogolo. Before his death he worked as an officer with Stevedoring Company and later joined the army and moved along with other soldiers to Bombay, India, enroute South Africa in 1943 and later returned to Nigeria after the Second World War in 1945.
After series of stints he got employed in the Customs in Lagos. He retired in 1972 and worked with the National Press, Morning Post and Sunday Post newspapers and other reputable companies.
He was a devout Christian having served as the treasurer of St. George’s Anglican Church, Ikot Abasi as far as his health allowed him. ###
