Cristian Nursery And Primary School Charges Private Schools To Develop the Child

“The rate of schools are springing up in recent times calls for concern, every nook and cranny are being converted into schools with little interest to provide basic amenities for child development.

However, there are some schools in the state that are bent on doing the right thing and one of them is Cristian Nursery and Primary School, approved in 2004 by Rivers State Government”.

These were the exact words of Mrs. Ade Ogbonda, the Proprietress of the above school who said a lot of people see school as an avenue to maximize profit, instead of holistically developing the child. “Therefore, they engage in all sorts of unwholesome practices to achieve their aim.”

She also noted that it’s disheartening seeing most private schools without health facilities or even security posts in view of the security threat in the country.

The proprietress further added that children cannot study properly without learning aids, unfortunately most of these schools do not know the importance of learning aids therefore they cannot implement it, this obviously hinders learning.

She called on parents to be observant and be wary of unapproved schools in order not to jeopardize the child’s future.

Mrs. Ogbonda therefore advised Rivers State government to quickly form a committee that will check quacks and chalalatans running private schools in the state.

She charged parents to complement the efforts of the teachers by looking into the child’s school work.

“Beside education, the spiritual and moral life of the child should also be developed effectively to mould the child properly”. Mrs Ogbonda concluded. ##
