Eleme Council Boss Promises Bus For Legionaries

The Eleme Council Chairman, Chief Oji Ngofa on Tuesday January 15, 2013, during the Armed Force remembrance Day celebration, promised to provide the legionaries Eleme Chapter a bus or more within the year, adding that he will better their lot this year than before.
Ngofa appreciated the ex-service men for laying down their lives to ensure that Nigeria remain one united entity and asked them to always find solution to those problems that caused the civil war so that there won’t be any war again in the country, noting that there is no reason why Nigerians should be carrying arm against themselves.
He asked Nigerians to show love and patriotism to the nation always for peace to continue to reign, maintaining that it is only by so doing that Nigeria can progress.
Chief Major Osaro Ollurwi, chairman Nigeria legion, Eleme council, blamed the government for not taking good care of retired soldiers, explaining that by so doing, they have exposed the nation to security risk, according to him, families of the fallen heroes are neglected and it could make their children to turn criminals since they are left without bread winners.
According to him, soldiers were trained for security and warfare but when they are left unengaged, they may think based on what has been expected of them which could be negative or positive.
That, he noted, is why they are behind organized crimes, be it militancy or Boko Haram, and insisting that the only way to stop them from evil is to engage them as they well be useful in security services.
He appealed to the Eleme council to provide the legion with an office for them to operate will in the area. ####
