2013: We’ll Focus On FOI Implementation

The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Rivers State, said it will focus more on the implementation of the Freedom Of Information (FOI) Act in 2013, stressing that its impact has not been felt yet in the country.
The State Director of NOA, Mr. Oliver Wolugbom stated this in an interview with journalists in Port Harcourt.
He observed that the implementation of the FOI Act has not being impressive.
Wolugbom who said his leadership has been focusing on attitudinal change, noted that if our attitude is changed, a lot of things will be put right.
“Do the right thing and transform Nigeria,” he charged.
He charged Nigerians to have faith in the country, emphasizing that we do not have any other nation apart from Nigeria.
The NOA Director decried the high level of indiscipline in the country, pointing out that it is our obligation to ensure that things are done the right way.
He expressed hope that insecurity in Nigeria will seize in 2013 and urged the people to support our leaders.
He also charged the leaders to do what is right to earn followership. Wolugbom dismissed claims that War Against Indiscipline (WAI) is dead.
According to him, the problem has been that people forgot that serving in WAI Brigade is voluntary, thereby placing financial expectation on it. He said the only way to appreciate the effort of WAI Brigade is for Nigerians to be discipline in their conduct.
The Director assured the state that WAI Brigade will be resuscitated in 2013.
On his New Year message, the NOA Boss said people should thank God and devout more time in his service, while striving to contribute their quota to move the country forward. ###
