NPL Sacks Baribote For Incompetence

The seemingly imbroglio between Nigeria Premier League Board chairman, Chief Rumson Baribote and Club Owners has taken a new twist as the intention of the premiership club owners in sacking Chief Baribote has been kicked against by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
It would be recalled that 16 club owners of the Nigeria Premier League came together in a forum to pass a vote of no confidence on Chief Rumson Baribote last week, their reasons for agitating Chief Baribote’s is that he is not transparent in handling the Nigeria Premier League Board, he (Baribote) is not carrying club owners along in his administration as the NPL board chairman.
This the Nigeria Football Federal (NFF) said no to because according to them, it is the Nigeria Football Federation alone that has the power to look into the crisis rocking the two parties.
This has further prevented the Nigeria Premier League from commencing the 2012-2013 football season, which was earlier proposed to kick off on the 1st of December, 2012.
As it is, the kick off date of the Nigeria Premier League 2012-2013 football season is not certain.
However, appeals have been made to corporate organizations to take over the sponsorship of the Nigeria Premier League. The league has been without sponsorship which sports analysts said has limited the Nigeria Premier League from producing that competitive flavour for clubsides in the continental level. ###
