Integrity Ministers World Network Consecrates First Female Bishop…Flood, God’s Sent-Nwator

The first ever female bishop in the history of Christendom was on Friday,26th October,2012 consecrated in Port Harcourt by the Integrity And Faithful Ministers World Network in the person of Amb. Dr.Mrs Priscilla Bassey. She was ordained by an array of bishops led by Bishop Dr. Friday Nwator, Archbishop Designate and the International President of the group.
Delivering his pre-ordination sermon at the House of Peace Ministries, Port Harcourt, Bishop Eddy Ogbonda of Sacred Flame Ministries charged the would -be bishop to live above board in all her dealings with God and humanity. He congratulated Mrs Bassey for her nomination, which he said was divine.
In a chat with newsmen, shortly after the ordination, Bish. Bassey said it has been her desire to serve God in a higher level. She thanked God for the opportunity and promised to discharge her duties without fear or favor.
Commenting on her vision, Mrs Bassey said she will propagate the gospel and care for the needy.
On her message to the country, she said Nigerians should not depart from the word of God, as righteousness exalts a nation, while sin is a reproach.
Adding his voice to the issue, Mr Anthony Charles the eldest son of the new bishop said as a family they will support and encourage her mother to succeed in her calling.
Asked whether they objected to the nomination of Mrs. Bassey as a bishop, Charles said it was a unanimous agreement in the family, who saw it as a great honor. He described her mother as strict and expressed confidence that she will do well in her calling.
Also speaking, Mr. Vincent Kpai said he was happy for the honor bestowed on Dr. Bassey and prayed God to shower her with his grace and wisdom.
Meanwhile Bishop Nwator has described the current flood that has ravaged several states in the country as blessing in disguise. According to him, the flood has wiped out all the sacred cows used for sacrifices and other fetish purposes, thereby cleansing the entire country. Nwator stated this while fielding questions from journalists, shortly after a two day intercessional prayer organized by the Integrity And Faithful Ministers World Network in Port Harcourt.
He urged the flood victims at the various camps in the country, especially Niger Delta to be discipline and eschew immorality, while those charged with the responsibility of managing the relief materials were asked to be honest in their duties.
He expressed hope that with the prayers of the Christians, especially ministers of God the flood will soon rescind and the people shall go back to their normal life. ##
