Youth Federation has been advised not to be involved in partisan politics.
This advice was given in Port Harcourt today by a Commissioner in the State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Jonah Tamuno (JP) when the Youth Federation paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
Chief Jonah Tamuno explained that the call became necessary in view of the fact that if they got involved in active politics they would lose focus to fight for the development of the entire Wakirike nation.
The Commissioner also advised them to show maturity in the provocative attitude of some Eleme youths who destroyed properties in Okrika territory.
He stated that their positive attitude has checked communal crisis between Eleme and Wakirike communities.
The Commissioner also charged the organization to always support the present administration in the state to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
Chief Jonah Tamuno further enjoined them to respect all those in authority at all levels of government in order to create peaceful atmosphere in the state.
Chief Jonah Tamuno used the occasion to appeal to relevant government agencies to expedite action on the boundary adjustment between Eleme arid Wakirike to bring permanent peace.
Earlier, the secretary of the Wakirike Youth Federation, Mr. Igoni Ifesimama thanked the commissioner for granting them audience and his fatherly advice.
Mr. Igoni Ifesimama disclosed that two weeks ago youths from Eleme destroyed properties at Okochiri but for the intervention of the federation the incidence would have resulted to a bloody clash.
He appealed to the State Government to urgently intervene and call the Eleme youth to order to avoid reaction from the Okrika youths as they can no longer fold their hands and allow their fe1low youths to attack them. ####
