Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has pledged his administration’s determination to complete all projects initiated by his government.
Governor Amaechi stated this during a thanksgiving service in honour of the Chairman of Etche Local Government, Barr. Reginald Ugwuoma at Assemblies of God’s Church, Rumuomasi.
He said the projects initiated by the government has direct impact on the people and must be completed.
The Governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr George Feyii appealed to churches in the state to pray for the government to enable it discharge its responsibility to the people.
In her speech, the wife of the State Governor, Dame Judith Amaechi, who commended Barr. Ugwuoma for his positive disposition to leadership urged him to emulate the governor and initiate project that have direct bearing on the Etche people.
Dame Amaechi commended the Chairman for supporting the education for all programme and mass literacy early child development education initiated by the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI).
The governor’s wife who enjoined churches to pray for the state to actualize its set goals advised women to take advantage of government health policy including attending government healthcare centres to nip in the bud the rate of maternal and child mortality in the state.
Delivering his sermon, the District Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Rivers State District, Rev Dr Ibulubo noted that public office holders should serve the people with the fear of God and glorify God with their style of leadership.
Rev Ibulubo who likened Barr. Ugwuoma to the biblical Daniel said he was destined to succeed.
The celebrant and Chairman of the Etche Local Government Barrister Reginald Ugwuoma said he was appreciating God for saving his life and that of his family from a road mishap and granting him victory at the council’s polls.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of award of stewardship to the Chairman, who is the church’s Chief Ushering Officer.
