In the recent meetings of the Christy Wilcox House of Grand Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Warisenibo Golden Christy Wilcox has been elected to be the Warialabo.
The election took place at the community hall inChristyWilcoxVillage, Bonny, with a large number of the villagers and other witnesses.
The election has only two aspirants, Warisenibo Golden C. Wilcox and Warisenibo Alaso C. Wilcox, contesting for the stool of Warialabo of Christy Wilcox House of Grand Bonny.
Warisenibo Furoshia J. Wilcox conducted the election and supervised by Wari Opusenibo Simagha Christy Wilcox, the chairman of electoral committee.
Golden C. Wilcox emerged as the winner by six votes, while Alaso Wilcox has only 2 votes; as only 8 principal members were allowed to vote during the election.
In his remarks, Warisenibo Alaso Wilcox accepted satisfaction with the electoral process, as fair and free.
Alaso added in his acceptance speech that the result is one of the best elections conducted so far inBonnyIsland. He charged the elected Warialabo to carry all members of Christy Wilcox House in the scheme of things.
According to Alabo, I promised to work with him with all my interest so as to move the House image ahead.
In his view, the electoral returning officer, Amasenibo Furoshia Wilcox commended the elders council of Christy Wilcox House for having successful election to choose a leader of their choice.
In his address, Se-Alabo Dagogo Claude Wilcox, who is the present chief and head of Wilcox House, Bonny, was impressed with the electoral committee of the Christy Wilcox House for so far conducting a successful election.
Chief Wilcox showed his satisfaction to the Warialabo elect. He noted that he is happy to get another leader who will assist him in the Bonny chiefs council in times of deliberations.
The chief charged all sons and daughters of Christy Wilcox to always include Christy in their surnames.###
