Imo Transport Corporation Repositions For Business

The Imo State owned Imo Transport Corporation, ITC, has beefed up its services with not only adding a courier section but also restructuring its technical crew and staff.
In a brief chat with the current manager Mr. Chidi Ray Ohaeji at one of the company’s loading bays at Waterlines Port Harcourt he informed that the new working system at ITC now is to ensure that customers get maximum value for money paid.
Mr. Ohaeji said “You see ITC has become very conscious of competition. We are in a jet age and things are moving fast. The world is in a hurry towards perfection and so ITC cannot be left alone. To this effect, we have properly repositioned our loading bays at Obigbo, Rumukoro, waterlines here and another one will soon come up at Choba”.
When asked about complaints by customers from other motor companies that their wares easily get missing once they forget them on transit. Mr. Chidi Ohaeji noted that there are rules to missing or forgotten items from passengers. The rules are, he stated, “You must show your ticket to assist the store department trace the forgotten items and then we look at the manifesto to be sure that the particular vehicle the passengers claimed to have entered is the one in question. Every manifesto has three duplicates the driver’s copy, ITC and the manifest office. All this, Mr. Chidi continued is to make sure someone does not collect an item belonging to another person.
While answering questions to The Newswriter staff, the manager showed a lot of forgotten items at the company’s stores yet unclaimed. He noted that pertaining to overloading of buses by drivers that a proper checking system is in place with the services of a monitoring team. He stressing that ITC has actually enlisted the services of a consultancy firm Ginikan Global Limited for effective management concluding that ITC will always work with the customer at heart promising that they will claim a veritable chunk of the market in the transport sector based on their new operating system of service. ###
