PDP Exco Inauguration: Chief G.U. Ake, Others Sworn-In …As Hon. Sir. Welendu, Leo Anyanwu Commends The Party

The Hall of the State Peoples Democratic Party PDP Secretariat, located at Aba Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was filled to capacity, as Party members and others, came out to witness the Swearing-in Ceremony of the 29 newly elected members of the party, on the May 8, 2012.
Speaking shortly after taking his oath of office and allegiance, as administrated by the South-South zonal legal Office, Barr. Ada Val-Arenyeke, Chief Godspower U. Ake, the state re-elected Chairman of PDP, for the second time, thanked all the L.G.A. Chairmen and the Exco for honoring the inauguration. He commended the state Governor Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, whom he described as a man with listening ears, for being supportive to the Party and his good works in the State; and promised that they will continue to deliver their party, PDP in all elections and never to disappoint the people.
In his remarks, Dr. Stephen Orusa, zonal Chairman of South-South PDP, described Port Harcourt as not just a Garden City anymore, but a business destination of the country. Dr. Stephen promised that they will work diligently to achieve the common goal of the Party. Adding that he has the confidence that given the free rancor and acrimony that ushered in the new executives, that they will deliver, despite the enormous challenges ahead.
While the Chief of staff, Hon. Tony Okocha, who represented the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi at the event, congratulated the South-South and state newly sworn-in executives. He reiterated that the governor in his effort and good governance delivered the highest number of votes in favour of President Goodluck Jonathan during the last Presidential election, whom according to the Chief of Staff is a member of PDP, South-South Zone.
However, Hon. Welendu M. Amadi, the Exective Chairman of Ikwerre L.G.A, Rivers State, commended PDP on the peaceful conduct of the state and zonal congresses that took place recently. Sir Welendu Commended Rt. Hon. Amaechi, the number one card bearer of the state PDP, for his exemplary leadership strides in the state and that of Chief G.U.Ake. Hon. Amadi, who refused to express administrative score card at the event, urged the media and the general public to come to the L.G.A. and see things themselves.
In the same vein, Hon. Leo Anyanwu, the newly sworn-in State Assistant Secretary 3, expressed gratitude to God and the Party, for the opportunity given to them to serve. Hon. Anyanwu was optimistic that their inputs as new entrants to the Exco, will help the party to re-strategize to brace up to challenges that may come the party’s way. Adding that PDP is too strong as a Party, to handle what ever situation.
Meanwhile, Hon. Sir. Lucky Amadi, JP has said that the inauguration of the Exco was a fulfillment of one of the party’s responsibilities, pointing development as one the challenges that the party is being faced in the state and urged the Exco to carry everyone along and ensure total discharge of the party manifesto.
