NUJ National Election: Olufunke Fadugba solicits Rivers Council Votes

As the 4th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Abuja, draws close, a presidential candidate, Mrs. Olufunke Fadugba has made passionate appeal to the Rivers State council of the NUJ to support her with their votes during the election.
The aspirant who was the former chairman of the Lagos State branch f the Union harped on the need to reach out to states branches so as to attain to any of their needs. Fadugba made this known in Port Harcourt capital of Rivers State during a chat with newsmen.
According to her “Provision of welfare packages will be primary focus. Every state would see a sense of liberation and enjoy a new sense of belonging having been marginalized for a long period of time.
Fadugba enjoined Rivers journalists to massively vote for her so as to emerge victorious at the forth coming NUJ Presidential election in Abuja.
She noted that the love of the union must be paramount and uppermost in all the members. “We should take prompt advantage of this unique occasion which coincidentally is at the threshold of the coming election to conduct a sincere soul searching and critical self-analysis of our union and to members in general.
“As we undertake the journey towards 2012, we must do so with the fear of God and with firm resolve by every member to work hard as a collective to evolve a union we will all be proud to call our union,” she emphasized.
In his speech, Mr. George Semekpo, a member of the Lagos State council of NUJ who was in Mrs. Fadugba’s campaign team. disclosed that when she was the chairman of Lagos State council of NUJ. She left a lot of legacies, expressing hope that she would do the same if she emerged winner at the 4th Triennial Delegate Conference, Abuja 2012 and appealed to members of Rivers State council of NUJ to support her to achieve her desire.
In their separate speeches Stanley Job Stanley, the secretary of the state NUJ and Mr. Ayo Tamuno the vice chairman of the state NUJ thanked Mrs. Fadugba for deeming it fit to seek the support of the state council of NUJ, stressing the door is open to any candidate who seeks for their support and wished her the best. ###
