Ministry Of Local Government Partners With EMSI

The Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Samuel Eyiba says his Ministry would partner with Ebony Mega Sports International (EMSI), a non governmental organization (NGO) to realize its dream in the development of sports in Rivers State.
Hon. Eyiba made the remark in his office when the Exco members of Ebony Mega Sports International paid him a courtesy visit.
The Commissioner who acknowledged the importance of Sports worldwide, described it as a unifying factor in Nigeria and therefore needed attention.
He promised to ensure that the Local Government budgetary allocation to sports was fully utilized and charged his guests to revitalize the Algon Unity Cup.
According to him, Algon Unity Cup was a competition organized for local governments in the State for the discovery of young talents.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation who is also the President of the Ebony Mega Sports International, Hon. Victor U. Amadi, in his address appealed to the Commissioner for the sponsorship of a two- day workshop on peace building on sports development in Rivers State.
Hon. Amadi said the workshop which is titled “Conflict Resolution through sports and legislating for sports development in Rivers State, cause, effects and solution,” will bring about peaceful co-existence and tolerance among Rivers people.
Executive members of the body were present during the courtesy. ###
