Delga to Spend N4.5bn in 2012

Chairman of Degerna local government area, Hon Ibigoni Daddy Pokima has presented a budget estimate of four billion, five hundred and fifty-four million, three hundred and twenty-two thousand naira (N4,554,322,000.ooj to the Delga Legislative Assembly for the year 2012.
Out of the amount, N1,552,322.oo (one billion, five hundred and fifty-two million, three hundred and twenty-two naira) is proposed to be spent on recurrent expenditure, while N3,002,000,000.oo (three billion, two million naira) will be spent on capital expenditure.
The council boss, who christened it the “Budget of Reality”, lamented the low internally generated revenue schedule of the council, but stated that the early passage of the 2012 draft estimate will enable his administration to speed up development.
He reiterated his administration’s deliberate resolve to embark on projects that will impact the lives of the people and generate revenue. He informed the house that, contract for the construction of a mini-stadium at the council headquarters has been awarded and work is ongoing.
His words: “This administration has not lost sight of our strong resolve to formulate and implement policies and programmes that would benefit the mass of our long-suffering people. Our economy should fare better. Indeed, it is time to speed up development projects. This is why I am here to talk to you about progress, irreversible progress. The contract for the construction of a mini- stadium has been awarded and work is ongoing”.
The leader of the Delga Legislative Assembly, Hon Iboroma Abiotoa received the draft estimate from the council boss on behalf of the House with a promise to give it an accelerated hearing. ###
