Motorists Decry Shoddy Deals At NNPC Mega Station

Motorists who identified themselves as regular buyers of PMS from the NNPC mega station at the Lagos bus stop, Township area of Port Harcourt have appealed to the RSG authorities to look into the metres at the filling stations as according to the commercial drivers, the metres have been tampered with to the disadvantage of the helpless masses.
According to some of them interviewed, “despite our paying toll gate levies ranging from N500-N1,000, one will come in to buy the fuel at exorbitant price and with a very fast metre reading”.
They used the opportunity to call on the relevant authorities to go round and check the metres of the pump price with a view to correcting the irregularities, and ensure that motorists have value for their hard earned money.
In course of our investigation, it was discovered that due to the government ban of the sale of the product in jerry cans, the attendants device dubious means to cheat on the buyers.
In all the filling stations picketed by our reporters what is in vogue now is the “metre business” as it is known.
Efforts to reach the commissioner in charge of energy or the managers of these filling stations proved abortive. ###
