Okrika Local Government Council has resolved to use the first council organized SSCE preparatory class as a template to measure other education intervention programmes in the LGA.
The Chairman of Okrika Local Government Council, Barr. Tamuno Williams disclosed this, while addressing the selected teachers for the programme in his office.
Tamuno Williams remarked that the Council decided embarking on the SSCE preparatory class to ensure that students in the LGA record huge success in the 2012 Senior School Certificate Examination.
WALGA Chairman lamented the occurrance of mass failure in the SSCE in recent past adding that Council has resolved to adopt proactive measures to give students in the L.G.A the needed impetus to succeed in the forth coming Senior School Certificate Examination.
He used the occasion to announce that the first Council Organized summer class in 2011 is still making the rounds as the effect of the programme has improved the academic potentials of the students who participated in the programme.
The Chairman added that with the recorded success of the last summer class, the Senior School Certificate Examination preparatory class will be a milestone in advancing Educational Development in the LG.A.
Tamuno Williams urged the teachers to see themselves as ambassadors and agents of transformation n the LGA.
The first Okrika Local Government Council’s Organized Senior School Certificate Examination preparatory class started on Monday, February 5th 2012.
