At 51, Nigeria Has Come To Stay – – Special Adviser

Jeff Oguike

The Special Adviser on Inter-government and Political Matters to Obio/Akpor Council Chiarman, in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area ofRiversState, Hon. Sir. Kingsley J. Wobo, has praisedNigeriaat 51, saying,Nigeriaas a great nation in the comity of nations, has certainly come to stay.

He therefore warned members of the Boko Haram sect who are threatening the corporate entity of the nation to stop the senseless killings of Innocent citizens of the country, and be reasonable and responsible.

Hon. Wobo, made this remark while speaking with our correspondent at his office on October 1st, during the Independence Day Celebration, inPort Harcourt.

According to him, the Boko Haram sect wants to create an ugly impression in the minds of Nigerians that president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, has failed in the area of security by planting indiscriminate bombs in all the nooks and crannies of the country and also to put fears in the minds of our foreign investors, probably to scare them away from investing in the country.

He therefore appealed to them to be reasonable and support the elected government in authority.

The Special Adviser, also used the occasion to shower praises on the state governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for embarking on people- oriented programmes that have positive impacts on the masses especially in the areas of health and education and urged him never to relent, no matter what the critics say and how the opposition parties brand his laudable programmes in the state.

Hon. Wobo commended the council chairman, Hon. Timothy Nsirim for his leadership strides and vision since he took over the affairs of the council some years ago. He noted that Hon. Nsirim was the only council chairman who has sited projects in every part of the local government area without minding, whether or not, the people voted for him or his party in the last council election. To him, that was  good leadership which most of our contemporary politicians must imbibe.

Continuing, he stated that Hon. Nsirim, has built modern markets for most communities in the locality and constructed both major and feeder roads for them as a way to ease the difficulties in transportation and make life easier  for  them as well.

Asked about his future political career and what he intends to do after leaving office, the amiable handsome looking politician, stated that as a grassroots politician his people may have to decide what role he may play in future for them, saying, “power belongs to the People”.####
