Rivers State Civil Service Commission Chairman Sir Martins-Yellowe has warned civil servants against the practice of falsifying their ages.
Speaking while addressing the management of the State Ministry of Environment in Port Harcourt, Sir Yellowe described the act as unacceptable.
He stressed the need for Ministries to declare vacancies that exist in their offices and called for co-operation among the staff.
The Chairman expressed displeasure over the attitude of some staff who frustrate the promotion of their colleagues in the civil service and described such act as wickedness.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. George Nweke commended the vision of the Chairman of the Commission to instill discipline in the service.
Dr. Nweke expressed optimism that the various measures introduced by the Commission would improve staff productivity and make the Civil Service an enviable one. ###
