The Rivers State Government says Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe remains the chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
This was contained in a press statement issued by the State Ministry of Youth Development and made available to The Newswriter newspaper on Monday.
The press statement was in response to the purported election conducted by some group of individuals claiming the new leadership of NYCN in the state.
The statement which was signed by Dame Priscillia Nwiwa, the HOD Administration in the Ministry, stated categorically that the group is unknown to the state government, and the only recognized state executive council of NYCN Rivers State chapter is headed by Amb. Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo whose election was conducted and supervised by the Ministry on 30th June, 2015 and inaugurated on the 30th July 2015 respectively for four year tenure.
The Ministry called on the peace and security committee and other security agencies to arrest such persons whose motive is to distort the peace so far enjoyed in the state.
The statement advised corporate organizations, and the general public not to identify with these impostors. ###
