Asalga: Kidnappers Dare CTC Boss

There are insecurity challenges in communities in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Of recent some indigenes have fled their communities for fear of fresh attacks, killings, violence and kidnapping. As a result of the gangterism in the LGA, businesses and social activities have been collapsed long ago.

The entire LGA is in darkness as there is no power supply in the past five (5) months. This also contributed to the insecurity situation of the area.

While addressing the people of Asari-Toru Local Government Area recently, the CTC chairman, Hon. Basoene Lolomari promised to fight crimes, cultism and kidnapping threatening that he will take the battle to the camps of the evil doers and dislodge them.

Unfortunately few days after the CTC chairman declared his intention to combat criminal elements across the LGA, the crime rate has increased geometrically.

Last Friday, a prominent member of the Kalabari Council of Chiefs, Chief Christopher J.T. Princewill was kidnapped at his residence by unknown masked gunmen.

As at the time of going to the press, the kidnapped Kalabari Chief is yet to regain his freedom and family members have not established contact with the abductors.  ###
