A football enthusiast and grassroots football promoter, Alhaji Alfa has appealed to coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League to come discover budding hidden footballers from the popular No. 1 Field at No. 1 Bende Street, Old Port Harcourt Township, Rivers State.

According to him, No.1 field has the capacity to expose naturally talented young footballers that will make any professional premier side in the Nigeria Professional Football League. He went on to buttress his point by adding that Hollando Football Club and George Football Clubs, two clubsdes training at No. 1 Field could easily produce a solid team to give any professional premier side in the Nigeria League for its money.

He therefore appealed to coaches managing the Nigeria professional Football League to make out time to come watch players with the purpose of harvesting them into their teams.

Alhaji Alfa who is also a member of the No. 1 field welfare committee appealed to the Rivers State commissioner of Sports, Hon. Boma Iyaye to come to the welfare management committee to help fix the damaged and battered artificial synthetic turf.

For now, No. 1 Filed is the most busiest field for clubsides for training and football competitions.

There is no time in the season that No. 1 field Bende stress knows no rest as either one clubside is training or a football competition is going on there. No. 1 Field has become a regular host to almost all Port Harcourt football club competitions.

The football clubs too are not left out. As a matter of fact, as of the time of filing in this report, there are two football competitions going on there at No. 1 field concurrently.

The soft spoken Alhaji Alfa therefore appealed to the state sports commissioner to assist the welfare management committee as to fix the artificial turf so that the field could not be abandoned.
