The incumbent South-South vice president of sports writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Honour Sirawoo has position himself to occupy the national secretariat of SWAN as its president, as he had inaugurated his campaign team in all the states of the Nigeria federation.
Speaking to some members of SWAN, The Newswriter sports gathered that Honour seemed unopposed as the 36 states of Nigeria are all warmly behind him to settle for the seat of the national swan presidency office.
As a sports writer, I have known Sirawoo over the years as a person who is courageous, dogged, charismatic, intelligent, honest, goal driven, focus and one who has the carriage to position the sports writers Association of Nigeria.
It is then not surprising that the 36 states of Nigeria SWAN chapters all want Honour Sirawoo to be the president of SWAN comes 18 June 2016.
Many sports journalists believe that Sirawoo is articulate, knowledgeable, diligent, honest, God fearing, accountable.
Addressing an emergency sports writers congress in Port Harcourt at the Ernest Ikoli Press Centre, Moscow Road, 26th May, 2016, Sirawoo said, if elected, he will give equal opportunity to all sports writers in the federation, irrespective of the one’s state.
A cross section of sports journalists expect Honour Sirawoo to fulfill his campaigneering promises when he finally comes to office.
What Sirawoo has edge over others that are going on fine for him, that might make him capture the office of SWAN presidency; are his ability to being a good listener, ready to learn and humble to make amend and adapt to challenging situation so easily.
Some of his qualities that have attracted the electorates in assuming, he is the best candidate that the SWAN presidency cap fits are his friendly, jovial disposition with his colleagues and friends, witty and humorous.
If Sirawoo is voted into office as the SWAN national president, he will be the first Rivers man that will be occupying the most prestigious sports writers Association office of Nigeria.
