On Saturday 5th March, 2016, the people of Minama town in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State came out enmass to welcome their monarch, King Iboroma Talbolt Pokubo, Ibiamaye-Loku XII to the community.
For sometime the Minama town has been a safe haven for cult activities and other social vices.
As a result of these so many indigenes of the area had fled to the neighbouring communities namely: Krakrama, Abonnema, Buguma, Port Harcourt, Angulama amongst others.
The King who arrived the community at exactly 11.15am went round the entire town to see things for himself. He visited some elders and opinion leaders in their houses.
Shortly after the Ibiamaye-Loku XII performed his traditional rites as the Amanyanabo of Minama before the gods of the land.
Addressing the people of the area at the community square, King Pokubo decried the poor state of the town, and attributed it to senseless rivalries and bickering, which according to him could not bring development into the area.
The paramount ruler who pointed out that his reign has facilitated development in the community, adding that through his efforts and goodwill, the Ibiamaye-Loku kingship stool of Minama has been classified and recognized by the government of Rivers State.
The Minama monarch pleaded with his critics to bury their hatchets for the benefit and the overall interest of the community.
King Pokubo expressed optimism that with God Almighty, the Minama community will begin to move forward, stating that he has nothing against anyone. He however, told the people to avoid rumour mongering and unnecessary false information, nothing that no community develops in the atmosphere of rancour and acrimony.
He categorically stated that the kingship stool of Minama has never been in dispute, saying that he remains the authentic Amanyanabo of Minama, the Ibiamaye-Loku XII. ###
