Let us Guide Our Utterances

blackEvery human being existing on this earth is a stranger or a pilgrim. The planet earth is not the final home of man. The life on earth is a journey and one day it shall come to an end. And when it ends we shall all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Please note that it is not the judgment seat of President Muhammadu Buhari or the judgment seat of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC or the judgment seat of Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or the judgment seat of the National Assembly.
When our journey ends and we appear before the judgment seat of Christ, everyone is bound to give account of whatever he or she had done while sojourn on this earth.
In this age and time no one seems to respect his or her elders. Respect for constituted authorities have been thrown into dog.
No wonder during one of his campaign outings in Degema consulate headquarters of Degema Local Government Area, ex-governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi described all Kalabari gubernatorial candidates as buccaneers. This was an insult of the highest order.
Of recent while reacting to the Supreme Court judgment that put an end to the governorship tussles in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside insulted the justices of the Apex Court. The Rivers APC governorship candidate also went further to rain abuses on Justice Mary Odili.
The recent condemnable action of Dakuku is least expected. As a politician and elderstatesman, it is expected that he should maintain decorum in public speaking to avoid attracting all manners of criticisms. Politicians should clear how to respect their elders. The Bible says that we should honour our parents, seniors and elders so that our days on this earth will be prolonged. ###
