Wike’s Victory Averted Blood Shed In Rivers– South-South Chiefs

The South-South Chiefs and Elders said that the Supreme Court judgment which affirmed Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s victory as the duely elected governor of Rivers State has averted blood shed in Rivers State.
The South-South Chiefs and Elders who nursed clandestine plans noted that the Supreme Court verdict also truncated the evil plans of politicians to unleash mayhem on the state.
This was made known by the State chairman of the South-South Chiefs and Elders Forum, High Chief (Dr.) Ombo Atuboinoma Harry while speaking to our correspondent in his office in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
He observed that Wike’s victory was divine and described the governor as Joshua who led the children of Israel to the promised Land. High Chief Atuboinoma Harry expressed optimism that Wike will lead the people of Rivers State to the Promised Land, adding that the Supreme Court victory is for the masses and lovers of democracy.
He faulted the judgment at the tribunal and Apeal Courts and hailed the verdict of the Supreme Court, saying that his members that numbering about 17800 across the length and breadth of the state voted massively for PDP during the 2015 general elections.
“Our members voted for PDP in their various LGAs”, High Chief Atuboinoma said.
He expresses happiness over Wike’s electoral success, adding that in no distant time, the governor will initiate programmes and policies that will usher in the needed development into the state. The state coordinator of the south/south chief and Elders Forum predicted industrialization, rural transformation and development in the state.
He however, expressed optimism that the PDP will come victoriously during the March 19 re-run election in the various constituencies in the state.
The South-South Chiefs and Elders expressed their displeasure over the way in which President Muhammadu Buhari is fighting corruption in the country. “The Nigeria’s economy has moved from fry pan to fire. How can a president will use one year to investigate corruption? There are other things to be done. I don’t say that fighting corruption is bad, but it cannot be one sided”, High Chief Atuboinoma-Harry said.
He frowned at the frequent foreign trips embark upon by the president, which he said is not healthy for the development of Nigeria. ###
