ISSUES ABATTOIR: APC And Political Prostitution Called Defection II

ikanyaProstitution, irrespective of whatever colouration one may give to it, is never a good venture and business recognize by law. It is attached linked to many incurable diseases that surely leads to death, hence no individual involves in prostitution has clearly admitted her involvement in the unholy practice rather she is known by her behaviour and characters, since it is associated with several attributes.
Similarly, political defection is likened to prostitution which has no tenable features rather destructive. Defection has its constitutional provision either by a political party concerned or affected. Hence, there are numerous consequences against the defectors.
Prostitute, according to Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary is a person who has sex for money. To use your skills, abilities, etc to do something that earn you money but that other people do not respect, because you are capable of doing something better.
Shamefully, those defecting from one political party to another have no genuine reasons for doing so and never in consonance with provisions of the law of the party defected from or to. These could be their deadly diseases. It is also in ignorance that these shameless individuals publicly announce their defection without the law. One interesting aspect of the ignorance is that most of the defectors are shameless because what they are doing now is never their first time of doing it.
What is the wisdom for somebody to defect from a political party and later return, what could be his or her reason for returning having left with an acclaimed reason seeing what had not been in the party he or she left.
Well, several issues had been raised on similar topics by Issues Abattoir but for the records once again, the hidden truth about these acclaimed defection from one party to the other, particularly from the PDP to APC is what Issues Abattoir intends to again disclose to those concerned who jubilate over defection of non-serious minded supporters.
The All Progressives Congress APC offers mouth watering promises to her purported new members on provision or enjoyment of equal opportunity and rights. But the Issues Abattoir is optimistic that the APC is at it lies again to deceiving innocent peoples. The APC had promised Nigerians to change Nigeria in 3 months on assumption of office if elected, thanks be to God, APC has been on the saddle of leadership for 8 months yet without any positive change rather a dwindling economy, hardship and scarcity of every vital life giving commodities.
One of the basic and identifiable characters of a prostitute is lies. And the APC rejoices in telling the entire world, where two unserious persons joined them, they would resort to spending the country’s resources in announcing it and the figures to run in hundreds and thousands, what a pity situation. Indeed there are evidences that the numbers so mentioned to have decamped from the PDP to the APC in the said LGAs are all fallacies and cheap propaganda. The APC do not have what it takes to provide equal opportunities and rights to all her purported decampees. No one is innocent including those defecting. Ask the reason for defecting, after all colouration, the truth remains that it is on personal gains. Could such person pursuing personal gains be said to be patriotic? And ready to accord equal opportunities to another?
Unfortunately, Senator Uche Ekwunife of the PDP who lost election via the Court of Appeal tribunal hurriedly and selfishly defected to contest under the APC in Anambra State was denied the ticket to run the Senatorial election under the APC platform. To crown it all, the APC national Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun told Nigerians that before Senator Ekwunife’s defection to the APC, there were people already in the Party. Was that not an open declaration that equal opportunity as brandished by the APC, is all falacies?
In March 28 and April 11, 2015 general elections, despite the pockets of violence perpetrated by members of that party, the monies meant for their elections were consciously squandered by those at the helm of affairs at the respective units, wards, LGAs, Senatorial districts etc. could these class of individuals be said to be innocent or change agents? The answer is capital NO!
The big lesson is that those defecting from the PDP should be made to remain where they have gone to in the event of their attempt to return because there is the possibility that they may do so.
These decampees are shameless because they are being to and fro without direction, they left the PDP to APC, returned to the PDP and were accepted as prodigal children yet without visible signs of repentance. Now they have gone back to the APC, it is obvious that they would come back but the question would be should they be taken back? Issues Abattoir opined that since defectors could not play by the rules, thereby making mockery of democracy, it is wise to advise them to remain where they are and never to return to PDP folk, by this the democratic norms would be well serviced and strengthened.
At this juncture, Issues Abattoir believes that the APC ought to have gathered lessons from her 2015 election experiences when her members either looted the party pause for self enrichment or did not work for the party but delighted in the millions of naira.
The defectors to APC are doing so, in deceit because they believe the millions of naira allotted to the respective units during the March and April elections are expected to repeat itself during the re-run National and State Assembly elections, hence to be partakers of the flowing national cake, the only option is to defect.
To crown it all, the results of the coming elections would certainly inform the over joyous APC that, all that glitters are not gold because the PDP is still incharge of Rivers State, either there are thousands of decampees to APGA, APC or NAP, the PDP is formidable.
Issues Abattoir therefore, opins that to strengthen the Nigeria’s democracy, the Political Parties and Politicians should emulate the American system, where the Democrats and Republicans remains confident of their respective ideologies and nurture their various Parties to remain stronger and relevant. If this is Nigeria watchword other than excessive greediness, Nigeria politics and politicians would not only be a better system but people to rely on by other economies and politics. ###
