Politics Has Taken Over Nigerian Football

Former guber aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and sports promoter, Chief Isaac Wonwu, has without fear or favour said that there is politics in Nigerian football, which has caused Nigeria backward in international football outings.
Speaking to The Newswriter sports anchor amidst some sports journalists, the fearless business morgue cum soccer promoter declared that Nigeria has the football potentials to stand any country in the world, but for the politics and sentiments being introduced to the game, Nigeria has forfeited its place in the comity of football playing nations in Africa and the world. He pointed out that this could be seen in her not qualifying for the ongoing African cup of nations. He further questioned the rational of the state executive not providing enough football fields for football youths in the state. Noting that even the ones available in some cases had been closed down, stating that this is not good for the football talents of the state.
He disclosed that his football tournament which is played annually has attracted some football scouts from far and near. He believed that if politics is erased from the Nigerian football, Nigeria would be a great nation football wise, national and international.
According to him, he had sustained the competition up to twelve years. Within these years, players had been discovered for both Sharks and Dolphins football clubs. ###
