Governor Nyesom Wike has agreed with other stakeholders in the State to repair the East-West Road despite the fact that it is a Federal high way.
Governor Nyesom Wike being conducted round facilities at the Onne Camp, by Mr Gabriele Volpi was accompained by Emma Aguma, Hon. Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Rivers State and others
The Governor said that the East-West Road is noted for heavy traffic jams which exposes commuters to security risks and causing companies to lose manpowers.
He said that the repair which will start from Eleme Junction to Onne Junction will be carried out by RCC, adding that 50 per cent of total project will be paid as initial capital to the contractor to enable him complete the job within two months.
This he said will restore the State to regain its status as the business hub of Nigeria.
Responding, the Chairman of Intels services Company, Volpi Gabriele commended Governor Wike for the giant stride he has taken to repair the road.
Mr. Gabriele said that the road if repaired will increase the investment capacity and will attract more investors to the area.
