The sack of Coach Stephen Keshi has generated lots of comments and remarks in the football family.
When The Newswriter sports seek the opinion and views of the Public Relation Officer of the Nigeria football supporters club, Rivers State chapter, Barr. Karibi George and former chairman of Allstars International football club of Port Harcourt, Sir. Ambassador John Peterside, asking, will the sack of Keshi by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) not affect the transition of the Super Eagles in the AFCON remaining qualifiers, read their responses; for Karibi George, from the performance of the Eagles in upcoming matches we would be able to tell if Stephen Keshi has been significant factor to the team since the end of the 2014 world cup.
“The termination of Keshi’s contract over his alleged application for the office of Coach of Ivory coast merely confirms what we had always suspected that powers above the NFF forced him on them.
It would appear that those forces no longer hold sway in the country. Perhaps Keshi suspected his days were numbered hence his application for the Ivorian job. Time will tell”.
For Sir Ambassador John Peterside, “Keshi was sacked on the ground that the apex football House, The NFF found him wanting.
“With the sack of Keshi, nothing is wrong as I have always being telling everybody that cares, the world can do without the best. I don’t even see Keshi as the best, anyway.
“The Super Eagles will not be affected because the likes of Yusuf and Amodu will take care of the Super Eagles.
The sack of Keshi has opened another chapter in the annals of the Super Eagles AFCON qualifiers.
Though, the likes of Peterside said no cause for alarm while Barr. Karibi George believes, only time will tell what become of the Super Eagles as definitely a new tactician or coach will be in the saddle to tinker the fortune and misfortunate of the Eagles, even as the Eagles are transiting to qualify for the next AFCON.
To majority of Nigeria soccer pundits, the sack of coach Keshi is long over due but what these sets of soccer fans did not prefer solution to the qualification of the Eagles.
Where is the next Super Eagles handler coming from is yet unknown, although there are indications that the NFF is quoted as looking beyond the shores of Nigeria for a new coach for the Super Eagle.
