Asalga: Gunmen Attack Community Secondary School

Information reaching our crime desk has it that, masked gun men numbering over five (5) on Friday attacked the Community Secondary School, Ido in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Reliable source hinted this publication that during the attack, the school was in session and the notorious gunmen chased the students out of the school premises, and began to shoot indiscriminately.

The sources further told our crime correspondent that, the dreaded armed gang went into the staff room, held the staff hostage and dispossessed them of their valuables including money, and mobile cell phones.

The cause of the attack was not known at the time of going to the press, but impeccable sources attributed it to the expulsion of a student from SS1, who allegedly tangled himself with cultism.

However, with timely intervention of the security agents and some able bodied young men from the community (Ido) two of the attackers were apprehended and handed them over to the appropriate security agency for interrogation. ###
