Trade Union Felicitates With New Rivers NLC Boss

The Rivers State chapter of the National Union of Civil Engineering Construction Furniture and Wood Workers (NUCECFWW) has facilitated with the newly elected chairman of the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade (Mrs.) Beatrice Itubo for her victory at the 11th State delegates conference in Port Harcourt, last Thursday.

This was contained in a congratulatory message sent to the new Rivers NLC boss on April 28, 2015. The congratulatory message which was signed by the chairman of NUCECFWW, Rivers State council, Comrade Temple Basoene Morford, the union said her victory came to them with a high excitement. Comrade Morford described the victory of Comrade (Mrs.) Itubo as a choice for greatness, consolidation, unity, prosperity, growth and success.

The union, however observed that with the emergence of Comrade (Mrs.) Itubo as the chairman of NLC in the state, Comrade Morford expressed hope that she would proffer lasting solution to the crisis rocking the Rivers State wing of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

Comrade Morford further urged the new NLC boss to attach high premium to the welfare of workers in the state.

He called on workers in the state to rally round Comrade (Mrs.) Itubo so as to attract better life into the entire workforce in Rivers State.

The Rivers NUCECFWW chairman on behalf of the members of his union prayed God to give the new Rivers NLC chairman the wisdom to pilot the affairs of the union to the Promised Land. ###
